Preserves civic records and written history. The Archivist's Office also serves as the government office of Temporis.
The Office of the City Archivist preserves the civic records and written history of Temporis. It also serves as the city's government office, maintaining the records and administrative continuity of the city in keeping with the Church's teaching on knowledge.
The Archivist's Office classifies records into public and restricted holdings. Public records, including charters, notices, and civic history, are available to any resident who asks. Restricted records concern matters the Church and the city have judged too dangerous, too sensitive, or too easily misused for open circulation, and are held under the same teaching on knowledge that shapes the rest of the Church's fellowship with Temporis.
The archives are where the city's documents, notices, charters, and historical records are stored and preserved. They are currently undergoing active construction as the office expands secure storage and reorganizes holdings.
Because the Archivist's Office maintains the city's written record, it has also come to serve as the seat of city government, issuing public notices, keeping the charter, and coordinating with the other departments of Temporis.
